Saddlebag supports - only Suzuki OEM??

I am looking to get some saddlebags for my 2k Savage. I am most likely going to go with the W&M Compact Slant design. I have heard that I will for sure need to get the supports so the bags/straps don't get into the wheel. Are the OEM Suzuki supports the ONLY ones out there that will work on the Savage? If I go with those, will I need to cut the bolts down so they don't interfer with the tire/wheel?
